I have opened my Etsy shop and have some of my handmade leather travelers notebooks and an original watercolour ACEO, I will be adding to it gradually so please look out for new stock :) I have opened a Ko-fi account which is basically like a tip jar for artists, any coffees (tips) from that account will go towards art supplies, or, an actual coffee! If your an artist then you might want to check Ko-fi out yourself :)

I have made a bit of progress on these today. They are both acrylic. The larger portrait is on canvas and the smaller one is on a wood panel. My model for the reference is the lovely Janna Prosvirina. Quite a way to go to finish them yet!
Work in Progress
Here is a canvas I started work on recently, just to prove I am still painting! She is being painted with acrylics on a yellow ochre ground, the background is a dark brown not black as it appears. For more sketches and work in progress please feel free to visit my Facebook page.
New Art
Here are two new paintings I completed recently. I have collected crystals for many years and used a couple of them for reference. They are painted in watercolours on Arches hot press (smooth) watercolour paper. I should have another couple of new paintings finished for Whitby Art Fair.
Getting ready for Whitby Art Fair
Currently I am working on some new paintings to take to Whitby Art Fair at the end of this month. I have also started printing some cards to take to the fair. Hoping I can get at least three more paintings completed in time, I would like to get lots more done but unfortunately I don't paint fast! You can see my recent quartz crystal painting on my Facebook page, feel free to have a look and leave a comment :)

Hoping to have a couple of new paintings to show at the fair.

The first is 'Faerie Scribe' earrings. These pretty earrings are individually hand coloured with genuine Swarovski crystals and silver plated ear hooks.
The second is 'Lady of the Woods' necklaces. These are one of a kind pieces, each one will vary. They feature genuine Swarovski crystals, some will also have semi-precious crystals and/or hand coloured elements.

New Sketch
Last night I started a new sketch as promised. Another Green Man.
I began this will no set idea and no reference was used. the sketch needs finishing, more leaves to add, his other ear needs drawing and his eyes need fixing.
Mostly my sketches are quite organic, I just start to draw and they evolve naturally.
However I do need to develop better organisation to make sure they get finished.
I have quite a few unfinished Green Man sketches, they all need working on. I think another Green Man painting is long overdue!

Just to let you know I am working on a new jewellery project. Also going to start some new sketches, thinking I will add the sketches to my website to prove I am doing something! Two paintings still need finishing, and lots of sketches need working on to turn into paintings.
I do have some other news....
....... I started University in September. A big change for me as I have been out of education for a long time. So now instead of fitting in my art around work, I now have to fit it in around my course.
I am still getting used to it, I will feel more settled when I have completed my first essay. Hoping working to deadlines will also help me get quicker at completing my own art.
As for my jewellery project I can't share the details yet, it is remaining a secret until enough pieces are completed.
Please visit again

Oppps, I seem to have an empty Etsy shop, and no new art finished yet. I haven't updated my Facebook page in months either, sorry for being so quiet.
I have been posting on Instagram & Twitter.
There are several paintings to finish, and jewellery projects to complete. I intend to leave my shop empty until I have made more jewellery, art and cards to fill it. Previously I haven't had much in my shop, it will be much better to wait until there are more items to list.
Anyway, I am still alive, just needed a break from Facebook and life has got in the way of finishing projects lately.
I hope you will call back and visit again, there will be finished art and new projects to show you.
Thank you for visiting

8th August 2014
Wow, I can't believe it is August already!
I haven't had any painting time recently, only just got to do some more on her today. I really thought I would have finished this weeks ago.
I have finished her dress and started on her hair, not quite sure if her eyes will be blue or green yet.
Although I haven't done any painting for a while I have been doing some sketches. You can see some of them on my Instagram account, the link is at the bottom of this page, just click the camera icon to view them.
I really will be pleased to get these paintings finished.

11th July 2014
I am currently working on two paintings, the previous winter faerie and this painting.
This one is for Enchanted Visions for the theme of 'Wonder'. For this piece I am using stock photo reference from 'Faestock' on Deviant Art. This is the first painting I have done using DA stock, usually I don't use reference. When completed I will provide the link to the lovely Faestock. This is approximately A3 in size, I will have to take it into a local printers to be scanned due to it's size. At the moment I am painting her skin which I find a challenge. Fingers crossed I am happy with her when she is finished. I have also started a sketch for the current Enchanted Visions theme, that will get worked on after I finish these two. |
20th June 2014
I am currently working on this winter faerie painting I started ages ago!
There are still more layers to add to her wings and coat, then I need to paint her hair, crown, facial features and the snowflakes.
Also working on a sketch for Enchanted Visions, hoping I can complete the sketch and the painting before the end of this month.
I am going to be starting a new jewellery project soon. keeping the item a secret until I have a few test pieces made.
Please do visit again to see the completed painting and jewellery :)

Sorry I haven't updated my website in a while. My laptop stopped working and had to be sent back for repair, in the end they sent me a new one. It meant six weeks of not being able to update my website or Etsy shop.
At the beginning of the month I was in Glastonbury. I went to the Avalon Faerie Fayre & Ball. There were many wonderful artists there, it was great to catch up with other artists and also to get to meet others I have previously only talked to online.
Brian & Wendy Froud were there, I was lucky to attend a talk they gave about their upcoming new book. Brian showed many of the new paintings he has done for the book, while Wendy read out parts of the book. It was a fascinating talk and I am very pleased I got to go.
Another highlight for me was getting to meet Aaron Pocock, we have only talked on Facebook before, he was a really lovely guy to talk to. It is nice when you meet someone in real life and they are as nice and friendly as they are online. If you haven't seen his art I recommend you go take a look: aaronpocock.weebly.com
Linda Ravenscroft was also there, she is one of my favourite artists and the most warm and lovely lady. If you ever get to go to Glastonbury then do go visit Linda in her new shop. Besides selling her own art and products, she also sells various handmade items from other artists.
While in Glastonbury I also visited the abbey & chalice well gardens. The Chalice Well is somewhere I find very special, it has such a peaceful atmosphere, I love it.
I have been sketching quite a lot recently, but still need to get paintings finished. Next time I update my website there should be some finished paintings.
Thank you for reading, please stay tuned for new art and jewellery :)

Well Christmas is nearly here, how did it get to be this time already ?
I am doing a bit of painting to my winter faerie, although I don't think I will finish her for Christmas as I wanted.
I am also making some chain maille jewellery as gifts, and making myself a couple of pieces.
To see some of my recent sketches please visit my Facbook page :)
I will be adding some new items to my Etsy shop in January.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas & New Year

New ACEO
I have been suffering with artists block, so I decided to just get my paints out and paint anything!
This is a little messy, there was no real plan, just the idea of standing stones and the moon. This was inspired by Linzi Sayles, she does lovely silhouette paintings. Originally there wasn't going to be a tree, but I smudged the black paint, and the branches also managed
to spread much further than planned. Did you notice the little triskelle?
This ACEO was created with watercolours & gouache on
illustration board. I also coloured the edges of the ACEO with silver sharpie.

New felt bowl & Mini Toadstool
I have recently finished this felt bowl. This is made with the technique of wet felting, layers of wool are built up and rubbed to make the fibres stick together. The bowl is actually flat to begin with, formed round a flat circular piece of plastic. Towards then end you cut the felt, remove the plastic, then shape your bowl.
It measures approximately 8.5cm wide x 4.5cm tall. It has iridescent fibres felted into it, unfortunately they don't show up very well in the photos. Since taking the photos I have finished off the rim of the bowl, it now has a smoother and better finished edge.
I have also made a tiny needle felted toadstool. It is much harder to make them so small, it is actually a little larger than I intended. The toadstool measures approximately 2.8cm, the glass jar it is in measures approximately 4.2cm. I plan to make some more, I have another five jars to fill.
Currently I am working on my new faerie painting, I do however still have other paintings to finish. I have so much I want to create, just need more time!

Work in progress
I have been working on a new painting, larger than my usual ACEO's.
I am painting her in watercolours. Her anatomy isn't quite right, I need more practice!
Here is a sneak preview of her, the final image is larger. I hope you will like her when she is finished.

More felted toadstools & new scale maille bracelet
I have been making a few more needle felted toadstools. I have made a teal toadstool with iridescent fibres in the cap, and a trio of felted toadstools in a jar.
I have also made a wider scale maille bracelet. The bracelet is made from anodised aluminium scales, bright aluminium rings and a silver plated lobster clasp.

Needle Felted Toadstool
I took a two hour class on making things with felt, it was nice to try something different.
I made a needle felted toadstool. The basic shape was done in class, then finished it off and added the swirls and spots at home. I only used one gauge needle, in future I want to try different needles so I can add more detail.
I am happy with my first attempt. If you ever try needle felting I will tell you now that at first it seems like it will never look anything like you want, it is just a case of keeping going until you get it how you want. Also be prepared to stab yourself at least a few times!
Now I am attempting a faerie creature, as I have no clue what I am doing it should be interesting to see what it turns out like.

27th May 2013
I have been making some more chain maille, including scale maille.
I love the scales as they are like dragon scales, I am going to attempt to make some scale bracers for myself, then hopefully for sale.
The Byzantine bracelet in the photo I made for a gift, I will however make more for sale.
I am planning on starting to add items to my Etsy soon, including some cards, prints and original art.
I must also get back to work on my paintings.

ACEO Challenge
I am taking part in a challenge on Facebook. The challenge is to create a finished ACEO to a specific prompt every day.
I am not going to attempt it every day, but so far I have completed two. It is an achievement for me as I usually take several days to a week to complete an ACEO. I also have lots of ACEO's sitting in storage, unfinished.
Hoping it will help me learn to paint faster, it would be great to start completing more art.
This is "Irish Freckles", painted yesterday (4th February) for the challenge.
This is the link to FaerieMajikk's FB page, she is the artist who set up the challenge.
Feel free to check out her art.

I have started my sketch book for the Sketch Book Project: http://www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject2012
Started it very late as I have until the end of January to send it to the USA. So far I have only done a few pages. Here is the first/title page. I will upload all the pictures when it is finished.

Jasmine ACEO
Here is an ACEO I painted for a Christmas present.
Black ink pen and watercolours on watercolour paper. Approximately 2.5" x 3.5".
Based on a photo I took of Jasmine Becket Griffith when I met her at Glastonbury this year.
